2006「魅力農村 新社花海行」活動將自11月25日正式開跑！到明年2月25日前，有三個月的花海展示活動，30多公頃的大片花海充分呈現了徐志摩筆下的數大之姿，每年的這個時候，種苗繁殖改良場都會開放這一大片花海供民眾賞玩，總是吸引大批人潮前來休憩觀賞。今年同樣以這如夢幻花園般的景致，引領遊客發現新社純樸迷人的小鎮之美，而大面積的鼠尾草和薰衣草更是將新社「香草小鎮 紫色故鄉」的浪漫魅力完全展現！
而11/25-26、12/9-10、12/23-24、1/6-7這四個週末也安排了樂團表演、DIY體驗活動及農特產品一元搶標等一系列的精采活動讓民眾一同參與，另外，這次活動也首度規劃了番茄及菇類產業館及休閒產業園遊會供民眾參觀遊玩，有看有吃又有玩的活動內容，熱鬧程度精采可期！
除了繽紛美麗的花海魅力外，新社商圈還有許多優質特色店家，休閒農場、香草庭園、民宿等，林林總總共有四、五十家，提供給遊客各式各樣的選擇。到新社，不必再擔心搞不清楚路況的問題，新社鄉休閒農業導覽發展協會已經依照區域不同的特色，規劃好七條主題路線，用捷運式概念串聯如珍珠般散落全鄉的各個店家，所以只要跟著紅、黃、藍、綠、紫、粉紅、咖啡這七條創意主題路線的電線桿顏色走，就可以一路盡興遊賞了。歡迎大家一起到新社共賞美麗的花海田園景致！
